Four checks for a pending Mantle bridge transfer

A pending Mantle bridge transfer can mean the source transaction is unconfirmed, the destination message is still processing, or a withdrawal is waiting for its final claim. Check the transfer in order, starting with the wallet and network you used. The mantle bridge guide explains when this route fits; the checks below help locate a transfer already in progress.

What does “pending” mean for a Mantle transfer?

It depends on which direction the assets are moving and which step has finished. For a deposit from Ethereum to Mantle, first check whether the Ethereum transaction was confirmed. An approval transaction only lets the bridge contract use a token; it does not send the deposit. If you signed both, find the deposit transaction hash, not just the approval hash.

For a withdrawal from Mantle to Ethereum, the first transaction records the withdrawal on Mantle. The funds do not appear on Ethereum at that point. The bridge must process the withdrawal before it becomes claimable, and the claim is a separate Ethereum transaction.

Which four checks can locate the transfer?

Compare the transaction record with the details you entered in the bridge. These four checks narrow down where the transfer is waiting:

  • Source transaction: Look up its hash on the source network’s block explorer. Check whether it is pending, confirmed, or failed.
  • Direction and network: Confirm whether you sent from Ethereum to Mantle or from Mantle to Ethereum, and view the balance on the destination network.
  • Receiving address: Check that the destination wallet address matches the one you intended, including if you connected a different wallet later.
  • Asset and token: Confirm the asset and its destination token representation. A matching ticker alone does not prove the token contract is the one you expect.

If a deposit is confirmed but the balance is not visible, check the bridge history and destination explorer. The wallet may need the correct network selected or the verified token added to its display. A display issue does not by itself show that the transfer failed.

What should you do if a withdrawal is still pending?

Open the bridge history for the same wallet and check whether the withdrawal is ready to claim. Until it is ready, another transaction will not complete the first withdrawal. Once claimable, switch to Ethereum and submit the separate claim transaction. That step needs ETH for its network fee, even when the withdrawal itself is in ETH.

For any direction, use the original transaction hash to track progress and avoid starting a duplicate transfer while the first one is unresolved. Keep enough native currency for fees on each network: ETH pays Ethereum transaction fees, while native MNT pays fees on Mantle. A bridge status, source transaction, and destination balance together give a clearer picture than the word “pending” alone.
