StarkWare opened OffMarket to the public on Oct. 14, giving Polymarket traders a way to hide the link between their main accounts and their positions. The service adds privacy to trading where wallet activity is usually public. The Block’s report on OffMarket says the service had been in limited release since August.
How does OffMarket separate trades from a user’s account?
OffMarket uses Starknet’s shared privacy pool and zero-knowledge technology, which can prove a transaction is valid without revealing some underlying details. Users’ funds sit in the pool, while their Polymarket positions are held under wallets derived from their signatures, according to a StarkWare spokesperson quoted by The Block. The spokesperson said users keep control of their keys in their browsers and can recover their wallets using those signatures if OffMarket goes offline.
Deposits are currently capped at $1,000 USDC per account. StarkWare told The Block it may adjust the limit based on demand and usage. The service routes orders to Polymarket, where they meet the same buyers and sellers at the same prices as other orders. Polymarket’s usual taker fee applies, with minimal added network costs, the spokesperson said.
What can other traders still see?
OffMarket does not make every trade invisible. Polymarket trades remain public, and transaction size or timing may still help others identify a trader. Transfers from the shared pool to a new wallet are also visible. The service hides who originally deposited the funds, but The Block reported that a smaller group using the pool could make that harder to conceal.
The shared Starknet pool held about $1.5 million across 17,000 deposits, according to L2BEAT figures cited by The Block. StarkWare did not provide user numbers or trading volumes for OffMarket’s limited release.
Is OffMarket part of Polymarket?
No. The Block reported that OffMarket is not a Polymarket product and has no formal partnership or special access. It is part of Polymarket’s verified builder program, and Polymarket can disable its builder code. The service follows Polymarket’s geographic restrictions, including its ban on U.S. users.
That makes OffMarket a privacy layer for accessing Polymarket’s existing markets, rather than a separate venue. Traders can keep their main wallet less directly tied to a position, but public trade details can still leave clues about who made it.
